ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, TEACHER, MENTOR
In 2010 Elation co-founded the Rosamunde Summer Music Academy & Festival, a program which brings international artistry to budding young musicians in the heart of Canada. The 10-day Academy program has been praised as inclusive and intensely educational and inspiring, with students coming away with connections and experiences that impact their future career. Elation has served as adjudicator and juror for numerous festivals and competitions, as sessional instructor at Canadian Mennonite University and maintains an active private teaching studio. Her students have been competition winners and provincial gold medal recipients for their Royal Conservatory of Music examination results. She has coached sectionals for the Winnipeg Youth Orchestra and University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra, offers Music as a Career sessions and has taught technique classes and masterclasses for many organizations including the Victoria Conservatory, Regina Conservatory, University of Saskatchewan and Cadenza Summer Music Program. |
“Apart from being an accomplished violinist and a valued member of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO), Elation Pauls has been a remarkable leader in the Canadian music scene. She has co-founded one of Canada’s most respected string academies and festivals, The Rosamunde Summer Music Academy & Festival, which brings some of the world’s finest string players to Winnipeg every year. Having had the pleasure of working with Elation both through WSO and the Rosamunde Festival in the past, I have been impressed by her openness to explore and showcase a diverse range of repertoire rarely heard in the classical scene, from improvised indigenous music, to folk, to new classical music composed by an Iranian-Canadian such as myself.”
